Steps for Earning a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL):
- Medical Class II Certification: Begin your journey by obtaining a Medical Class II certificate, ensuring you meet the health standards for piloting.
- Computer Number Application: Apply for a unique computer number, a prerequisite for DGCA examinations.
- Creation of eGCA Login Credentials: Register on the eGCA portal to access your aviation records and manage your licence progress.
- Ground Classes: Enroll in our ground classes to build a strong theoretical foundation in aviation principles.
- Clearing DGCA Exams: Successfully pass the exams conducted by DGCA to move closer to your CPL.
- Medical Class I Certification: Upgrade to a Medical Class I certificate, a requirement for commercial pilots.
- Simulator Sessions: Gain valuable experience with our advanced flight simulators, honing your flying skills in a controlled environment.
- Flying Training (200 Hours): Complete at least 200 hours of flying training, mastering the art of flying and cementing your skills as a pilot.
Ground Classes Overview
Duration: 3-6 Months
Ground classes are the cornerstone of your pilot training, offering deep dives into critical aviation theories and practices. At Dunes Aviation Academy, we take immense pride in our pedagogical approach, ensuring each trainee develops a robust understanding of aviation fundamentals. Our training methodology, aligned with the DGCA syllabus, emphasizes safety and professionalism, preparing you to handle the responsibilities that come with the pilot’s seat. 5. Radio Telephony (including practical examinations for FRTOL – Flight Radio Telephony Operators Licence)

Flying and Simulator Training Overview
Duration: 8-12 Months
Our commitment to excellence extends to our flying and simulator training, where we exceed standard requirements to maximize training efficiency and quality. Safe, regular, and effective, our program is designed to complete within 8 to 12 months, covering:
CPL Program with Multi Engine Endorsement:
- 100 hours as Pilot-in-Command.
- 20 hours of cross-country flight as Pilot-in-Command.
- 10 hours of instrument time (max 5 hours on a simulator).
- 5 hours of night flight, including ten take-offs and landings as Pilot-in-Command.
CPL with Instrument Rating and Multi Engine Endorsement (CPL with IR):
- 100 hours of flight time as Pilot-in-Command, including specific requirements for cross-country and circuit-landings.
- 50 hours of cross-country flight as Pilot-in-Command.
- 50 hours of instrument time (max 20 hours on a simulator).
- 5 hours of night flight, including ten take-offs and landings as Pilot-in-Command.
Examination Details:
- Flying Checks: Conducted by the CFI or a DGCA-designated examiner, adhering strictly to DGCA regulations.
- Written Exams for Ground Subjects: Scheduled by the DGCA, typically twice a year.
- Radio Telephony Licence Test: Administered by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT), as per their schedule.

- Air Regulation
- Technical Specific Papers (concern to particular aircraft and its related system)
- Radio Telephony*: Radio Telephony procedures and phraseology; action to be taken in case of communication failure. Signals (practical examinations) for interpretation of aural and visual signals.
* Radio Telephony is conducted by WPC (Wireless Planning Coordination Wing) on regular basis to obtain FRTOL (Flight Radio Telephony Operators License).

Flying and Simulator Training
Duration: 8-12 Months
At Dunes Aviation Academy, we believe in exceeding the norms to increase the efficiency and quality of the outcome.
Here, we ensure safe, regular, and efficient training for a minimum possible duration of 8 to 12 months.
1. For CPL program with Multi Engine Endorsement :-
Our cadet will complete a minimum of 200 flying hours which includes the below flying requirements:
- Minimum 100 hours of flight time as Pilot-in-Command.
- Minimum 20 hours of cross-country flight time as Pilot-in-Command.
- Minimum 10 hours of instrument time of which not more than 5 hours may be on an approved simulator.
- Minimum 5 hours of flight time by night including a minimum of ten take-offs and ten landings as Pilot-in-Command (sole manipulator of controls)

2. For CPL with Instrument Rating and Multi Engine Endorsement (CPL with IR) :-
Our cadet will complete a minimum of 200 flying hours which includes the below flying requirements:
- Minimum 100 hours of flight time as Pilot-in-Command including a minimum of 30 flying hours as student pilot-in-command which shall further include a maximum of 20 hours of cross-country flying time and a maximum of 10 hours of circuit-landings with a minimum of 10 landings.
- Minimum 50 hours of cross-country flight time as Pilot-in-Command including a cross-country flight of a minimum of 300 nm in the course of which full stop landing at two different aerodromes shall be made.
- Minimum 50 hours of instrument time of which not more than 20 hours may be on an approved simulator.
- Minimum 5 hours of flight time by night including a minimum of ten take-offs and ten landings as Pilot-in-Command (sole manipulator of controls)
Examination Details:
- The CFI or a DGCA designated examiner will conduct the Flying checks in compliance with DGCA rules and regulations.
- DGCA conducts the written exams of Ground subjects as per their published schedule (Generally twice a year).
- The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) conducts the test for Radio Telephony License, as per their published schedule.
