Capt. Barani Shankar M R serves as Head of Training & Chief Instructor at Dunes Aviation Academy. He brings over 5,000 hours of flying experience and demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, discipline, and training excellence.

Over the years, he has worked with leading flight training organizations and also gained professional experience within the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). As a result, he understands both instructional standards and aviation regulations in depth. This rare combination makes him a well-rounded and highly capable aviation training leader.

He holds a Commercial Pilot Licence with Multi-Engine Instrument Rating and remains open-rated on single-engine aircraft. In addition, he has completed advanced training in MCC, MJO, CRM, and Safety Management Systems (SMS). Furthermore, he is a DGCA-approved Designated Examiner for Single-Engine and Multi-Engine aircraft, a certified Internal Auditor, and a Symbiotics ADAPT psychometric assessor. These qualifications strengthen the academy’s standards in pilot assessment and training quality.
